Land Available for Non Aviation Use
Non-Aviation areas
The Plymouth Airport has approximately 100 acres of land which can be developed for "compatible" non-aviation uses. The airport is within the "Airport" zone as defined by Plymouth zoning. The Airport zone allows aviation uses and a broad spectrum of "industrial/commercial" type uses by permit. The Plymouth Airport Commission is actively looking for compatible tenants which may find the airport environment appropriate for development. Currently, the Plymouth Airport has a number of non-aviation tenants, ranging from: restaurants, storage, metal stamping, cabinet makers, wholesale parts. These non-aviation areas of the airport do not have access to runways and taxiways and have been designated as non-aviation areas within the master plan.
South Meadow Road
The airport has approximately 3 acres with South Meadow Rd frontage. This area has the greatest roadside exposure and the Plymouth Airport Commission would desire buildings with presentable facades and good roadside appeal.
Gate 6 Development Area.
The Plymouth Airport has approximately 100 acres along the south side of the Gate 6 roadway. This area may be just right for Light Manufacturing and Research and Development. The initial development would likely be relatively near the existing hangar complex and has easy access to utilities. Leases may be up to 40 years in duration, the lease rates are a sliding scale and range from $0.29 per square foot/per year for 20,000 square feet or greater to $0.41 per square foot for 10-12,000 square feet.
